The Amarok, which will be available as a four-door double cab version from launch with a single cab model to follow in 2011, combines the robustness of a pick-up with innovative technology, high safety standards, excellent fuel economy and Volkswagen standards of comfort, quality and durability.

Production of the Amarok is about to start at the Volkswagen factory in Buenos Aires, Argentina ahead of its worldwide launch starting in its native South America in early 2010 and in Europe next summer, with first models expected to be in UK Volkswagen Van Centres in September 2010.

The Amarok has a generous payload capacity of up to 1.15 tonnes and maximum towing limit of 2.8 tonnes. Its 2.52 m² cargo area has the largest dimensions in its class at 1,555 mm long and 1,620 mm wide, plus a best in class width between the wheelarches of 1,222 mm, which means that for the first time on a mid-size pick-up, it is possible to load Euro pallets sideways, saving on space.

Hire Purchase Ownership at the end of the agreed term � Once the agreement has ended, you can sell the vehicle and keep 100% of the proceeds for the sale. Negotiable Deposit � Flexibility on the amount put down as your deposit. Entitlement to writing down allowances � Can mean that you pay less to the taxman. Agreement is secured on the asset being financed � In most cases there is no need to provide additional security. Fixed term / rate � Flexible tailored finance to suit your needs. You know exactly what you have to pay and when, allowing you to plan ahead and retain control. Finance Lease Two attractive options at the end of the agreement � Gives you options at the end of the agreement allowing you to base your decisions at the time. You can either continue to use the equipment, or sell it. Secondary lease period available � If you decide to continue to use the equipment at the end of the agreement, nominal rentals are payable usually annually (known as a peppercorn rental). Profit from the sale of the vehicle � If you decide to sell the vehicle at the end of the agreement, you can do so, and you will be able to keep around 95% of the proceeds from the sale. Off balance sheet finance � Does not affect the gearing ratio of the business. Short-term finance � Choose a period of hire that suits you. Use without ownership � Legal title and risk is retained by the finance company. Personal Contract Purchase Low deposit � In most cases the finance companies only ask for 3 payments upfront to start the agreement. Low cost payments - Due to having a proportion of the vehicle value deferred to the end of the agreement. Flexibility - Options to purchase, sell or hand back at the end of the agreement. Peace of mind � The future value deferred to the end of the agreement is guaranteed, so no risk to customer if depreciation is below future value. Servicing � All your servicing costs including replacement worn tyres can be added to the agreement upfront. This would normally benefit an individual who uses the vehicle as a company car. Lease Purchase This type of finance works in the same way as Hire Purchase, the only difference is you can defer a proportion of the vehicle value to the end of the agreement (known as a balloon payment) which will reduce your monthly payments. When you reach the end of this agreement your options are to pay the finance company the balloon amount to own the vehicle outright. Or sell the vehicle on, pay off the balloon amount and keep any equity made from the sale. (Please note you cannot simply hand the vehicle back at the end of this agreement).
